今日は!
Kon'nichiwa,
My name is Natalie Cherie, and I'm a total intellectual geek. I have a bachelor's degree in English literature and editing, and I have a master's degree in literature, religion, and culture. I compulsively build curriculum for myself and love working through my own blend of Japanese cultural studies, which includes politics, history, religion, language, and culture (anime, manga, folklore, literature, martial arts, all that stuff).
On the one hand, I'm the type of person who writes a clutch academic paper about how the trees in Noragami show the evolution of Shinto in Japan. How did this come about? I was in my last term as a graduate student, I was burned-out, couldn't seem to write my final essay, and was watching Noragami instead. Voila! (You do what you can.)
On the other hand, I'm the type of person who reads manga like an addict, binges anime unless I feel especially disciplined, and enjoys a good fanfiction here and there. It's sappy, but I really am grateful for every tear from Fruits Basket and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, every laugh from Noragami and Assassination Classroom, every shout from Haikyuu and Demon Slayer, and every squeal from Kaichou wa Maid-sama—not to mention all the other anime and manga that have moved me.
I'm the type of person who just loves Japan—with and without the heady analysis. Thinking back, I've come a long way since my husband introduced me to anime by showing me Cowboy Bebop and Howl's Moving Castle.
I'm so grateful he did.
Take care and be kind.
どうぞお元気でそしてみんなに親切にする.
